Prepare and print this worksheet before any flight, and be well-prepared to make diversion range decisions at a glance.
Prior to your flight, simply fill in the 7 input fields with your flight data:
- Winds aloft direction
- Winds aloft speed
- Average magnetic variation
- True airspeed
- Fuel flow
- Vectoring time at dest
- Fuel capacity (usable)
Print the worksheet before your flight for easy reference.
When needing to divert, start with your desired True Course. If you have sufficient fuel to fly the Distance to your new destination, then accept the diversion, and fly the yellow-highlighted Magnetic Course (or Magnetic Heading).
